AUDITIONS FOR NATIONAL THEATRE CONNECTIONS 2027
Ariel Company Theatre is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to take part in National Connections 2027—a prestigious nationwide festival celebrating brand-new writing for young performers!
Having successfully passed the application round, our students now have the extraordinary opportunity to stage a completely original, never-before-seen play: That's Me, APD.
Participants will gain real touring experience across two stages—performing at home and transferring to the Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells—while receiving direct feedback from a National Theatre Mentor Director, with the ultimate possibility of being chosen to perform at London’s iconic National Theatre next Summer!
While Ariel took part in Connections many years ago, we are ecstatic to bring this elite opportunity back; it is a standout achievement that offers invaluable industry insight and will look exceptional on any young actor’s CV.

Who Can Audition?
We are holding open auditions for this exciting play, and the show is open to both Ariel and Non-Ariel performers aged 13-19 years old (Year 9+).
Actor/Musician Ensemble:
We are seeking a versatile ensemble of around 20 actors/musicians to build an immersive, shapeshifting soundscape for That's Me, APD.
Functioning as the show's sonic engine, this tight-knit group will underscore, animate, and enrich the narrative through live music, spoken word, vocalized sound, and physical theatre. Performers will fluidly shift identities, speaking both individually and as a collective voice, with specific lines developed collaboratively in rehearsal – a real ensemble piece!
AUDITION INFORMATION
To create the vision for the play, we are looking to cast both actors and actor/musicians (any instrument or singing). The in-person auditions will be in a workshop style, with nothing to prepare as everything will be given to them on the day.
In addition, if anyone also plays an instrument/sings, we would welcome a short self-tape of them performing anything of their choosing, in addition to attending the in-person audition. Please start the self tape stating your name.
It is not a requirement to play an instrument or sing and self tapes don't have to be submitted if you don't want to sing or play an instrument.
We will be holding auditions on Thursday 5th November 2026 at The Burnside Community Centre 7 – 9pm (registration 6.50pm) which everyone MUST attend.
All musician self-tapes must be submitted by Wednesday 4th November 2026 and the link for this will be sent once you have applied.
Casting will be announced shortly after auditions and the first rehearsal will take place on Thursday 12th November 2026, 7-9pm at the Burnside Centre, Victoria Rd, Burgess Hill RH15 9LH.
Everyone who wishes to audition must complete the application form below and pay the non-refundable £10 audition fee.

If we are selected to move forward, there is the possibility of performing at The National Theatre, London in June 2027!!
Rehearsal Information:
Rehearsals will commence on Thursday 12th November between 7pm-9pm and will take place most Thursdays between 12th November and Production week at the Burnside Centre, Burgess Hill.
There will be a very small number of Sunday rehearsals to include one prior to the Home Performance and 1-2 recap rehearsals between the home and partner performance, dates TBC asap. A full schedule will be provided following the auditions.
We have a tight rehearsal schedule so attendance is vital!
Production Fee
Once casting is announced, a production fee of £120 will be payable from all cast members.
You will be given further information once casting is announced.
This production fee is non-refundable or transferable.
