of BUGSY MALONE

Q: When will the actual shows take place?

A: Performances of ‘Bugsy Malone’ will take place between Thursday 30th October and Sunday 2nd November 2025.

 

Q: Where will the performances be?

A: Performances of ‘Bugsy Malone’ will be at ‘the New Bury Theatre’ in Hurstpierpoint.

 

Q: What are the Rehearsal Dates?

A: Rehearsals will be held every Sunday between May and October with the exception of a 2 week break in the summer holidays. A full and comprehensive rehearsal schedule will be available should you be invited to join the cast. rehearsals will be between 10am and 4PM.

 

Q: Where will rehearsals be held?

A: Rehearsals will be held at the Burgess Hill Academy in Burgess hill.

 

Q: Do I have to attend every rehearsal?

A: A more detailed and comprehensive rehearsal schedule will be available once the show has been cast, but please be prepared to be called for every rehearsal. whilst you may be called, you may not be called all day, it is likely ensemble will only be called after lunch. Absences will need to be discussed and authorised with the production team in advance and will be agreed on a case by case basis. 

 

Q: How is this show different from a workshop?

A: This production will be on a much larger scale compared to our yearly workshop productions. It will include a full orchestra, a set, costumes, props and a longer rehearsal period.

 

Q: Who can audition?

A: Auditions are open to all aged between 7 & 15. You do not have to be a part of Ariel to audition for this show and we encourage those who might not have worked with us before to audition.

 

Q: Do I have to Audition?

A: Unlike in our workshops, if you would like to be part of the cast for ‘Bugsy Malone’ you must audition. Spaces are limited and not everyone who auditions is guaranteed a place.

 

Q: What do I need to prepare?

A: once we have received your audition application, you will be sent an audition pack which contains all of the information you will need about what you should prepare for the audition. Please note, all auditionees will be required and should be prepared to sing, dance and deliver a small piece of dialogue.

 

Q: Can I audition for a specific role?

Yes and no. All auditionees will be required to complete the ensemble audition during the morning portion of the auditions. Those wishing to audition for a featured or principal role will be asked to stay for the afternoon and there will be additional material to prepare for this. we will only be auditioning for select roles on the day, if you would like to be considered for a role we are not auditioning, please make this known to us on the audition day and be prepared to learn material for one of the select roles have stated we will be seeing
